Winnipeg Based Indie Rock Band
Lost as Found
Music and Lyrics by Danna Amelia Pond.
BIO
Lost as Found.
"Sometimes, you have to lose yourself in order to find yourself."
Lost as Found is a Canadian indie rock band that has been featured on CKUW, CJUM, WitchPolice Radio and What Makes You Famous Podcast.
Lost as Found thematically explores darker subjects, such as addiction, mental health, and suicide, as performance artist Danna Pond tries to transmute the darkness she feels into love and light. Don't be afraid to let yourself feel, just close your eyes, and let your heart fly through the Eternal Starry Abyss to that place that feels like home.
What is life, what is love, what's the point? Who are we in this vast and ever expanding lonely universe? What is meaning and how do we find it? If Love is the point, then why does heartbreak hurt so much?
“They say you have to go through Hell to get to Heaven.”
What is Hell, what is Heaven, is there an afterlife, and if so; is this it? Lost as Found believes that this could be heaven or hell, depending on what you make of it.
Danna Pond is Manitoba born and raised, Purt Pickles is from Lovanuff, but raised in Swift Current, Saskatchewan; and together, they are Lost as Found.
“Lost as Found” has self published eleven albums, three singles, and headlined at The Pyramid Cabaret in Winnipeg, MB. Lost as Found has also performed live on the radio with CJUM FM, and signed a release to air four original tracks moving forward.
With the help of her best friend, Purt Pickles, Danna stands tall in the face of a future she had never truly prepared for.

ABOUT DANNA POND
Behind the music of "Lost as Found."
Danna Amelia Pond (Age: 32, born June 1, 1991) is a performance artist and singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Having studied both physics and psychology, she graduated in video-game design. Danna was initially interested in pursuing a career as a video-game concept artist, in order to create and produce science-fiction/fantasy games that were heavily focused on story-telling.
Throughout high-school and University, Danna had always placed music high along her list of priorities, and was heavily inspired by her best friend's musical prowess. In order to help pay for tuition fees in the beginning of her educational career, she began tutoring and giving music lessons to children in her neighbourhood.
"I'm a holistic musician. It takes time, place, and circumstance for a song to be born.."
It was near the end of Danna's academic career, that she suffered a very poor reaction to some anti-depressants, which caused her to leave her psychology degree unfinished, in order to recover and focus on her mental health. The additional time in her schedule, paired with the amount of unprocessed emotions and unresolved traumas that she needed to work through, funnelled it's way into Danna's music.

Danna's experiences with her mental health and the resulting ways in which she tried to cope, would later become some of the core themes she began to explore with her art, such as suicidality, grief, and escapism, and her attempts to reconcile the harsh nature of an inescapable material universe through the search for meaning and purpose.
Purt and Danna's project, Lost as Found, started as an effort to repair a relationship with the woman who inspired her first album, "Time and Eternity." Upon realizing her ability to channel unresolved emotions into her music, she continued to build upon her compositional and songwriting skills and abilities with the hopes of reaching a larger audience. Danna's primary focus with the Lost as Found project moving forward is simply to spread a message of understanding and awareness.
"It's not about me or what I went through, everybody has problems. What's important for people to realize is that, however unique and different our problems may appear, we're united by our suffering. Sometimes we just need someone to sit with us in the dark places, and show us the way out. Show us that we aren't alone."
In 2019, Danna continued to work on her music and her recovery, with the intention of performing and producing her hour long performance piece, the "Lights Out" special. This would later be posted to Apple Music and Spotify as "Lights Out: Live at The Pyramid."
Throughout 2019-2021 Danna began working on what was referred to as "Lost as Found X"; this musical project would grow into Hearts with Wings and Eyes to See, an album which received a Canadian Music Week nomination for "Best New Heavy/Alternative Rock" in 2021.
Hearts with Wings* #hwwets is lovingly pronounced "hue-etts."
By 2022 Danna and Purt would have produced eleven albums, all of which are currently available on all major streaming platforms.
